Real Time Planning DE 2x

shyftplan, the leading shift scheduling platform for large industry enterprises and rapidly scaling companies, announced today that it has been awarded a research grant by the German Federal Ministry of Education & Research. The research project will enable the implementation of an AI-based shift planning solution. The AI supported planning process will help to make even the largest and most complex shift schedules faster and easier to plan for employees.

About the research allowance

The goal of the research allowance, which is the responsibility of the Federal Ministry of Education & Research, is to strengthen Germany as an investment location and to stimulate the research activities of small and medium-sized enterprises in particular.

The law provides tax benefits for research expenditures by companies subject to taxation in Germany - regardless of size, legal form and industry - and is intended to provide incentives to invest in research and development (R&D).

About shyftplan

Since its founding in 2013, shyftplan has been helping companies digitize shift schedules and make scheduling work processes more efficient. This solution is already successfully used by over 500 customers worldwide. Most recently, the software has been enhanced with AI-based modules that further automate processes and enable planners of especially large and complex shift schedules to work even more efficiently. The company is headquartered in Berlin, Germany, and currently employs a team of 65+ experts.

""The business challenges of tomorrow can't be solved with yesterday’s tools. To meet the growing demands of both the market and the workforce, companies need connected and automated solutions. With shyftskills, we provide organizations with the data foundation for intelligent, qualification-based talent allocation,"" explains Jan-Martin Josten, founder of shyftplan.

Shift planning meets skill management – efficient, flexible, and audit-proof

shyftskills ensures that employees are automatically scheduled based on their qualifications. Skill gaps and training needs can be identified early, allowing for timely planning of upskilling measures. In addition to supporting day-to-day operations, shyftskills provides audit-proof documentation of all qualifications and training activities. By combining real-time tracking with an LMS integration, shyftskills guarantees that all relevant documentation is always at hand – helping organizations meet compliance requirements such as ISO 9001 or IATF 16949.

shyftskills is already seamlessly connecting qualification management and workforce planning for a number of users – with measurable benefits for manufacturing:

""If qualifications are automatically taken into account in workforce scheduling, production in shift operation gains flexibility and security - bottlenecks can be absorbed much more easily. This ensures that sufficient qualified personnel are in the right place at the right time,"" says Jan Tornow, Head of Housing and Rotor Manufacturing at Siemens Energy.

shyftskills – Your skill matrix for intelligent workforce planning

As demands for flexibility, compliance, and continuous upskilling grow, shyftskills provides a scalable solution to streamline workforce planning and tightly align it with qualification management.

“Labour shortages, digital transformation, and increasing regulatory pressure are compelling companies to move away from manual and Excel-based processes. shyftskills addresses this challenge by automating error-prone tasks and enabling targeted workforce development – for greater efficiency and resilience,” says Dr. Farhood Torabian, CEO of shyftplan.

Instead of isolated Excel-based solutions, shyftskills offers an integrated platform that captures qualifications in real time and incorporates them directly into operational planning. This transforms qualification management from an administrative task into a value-driving leadership responsibility.

shyftskills is now live – designed for organizations aiming to optimize their qualification management and seamlessly integrate it into existing systems. For more information about the solution and its practical applications, visit: www.shyftplan.com/shyftskills.
